“Until you make the unconscious conscious...

it will direct your life and you will call it fate” — Carl Jung

How long is a counselling session?

Counselling sessions are for one hour.

When can I come for counselling?

Appointments are available primarily during the daytime, with some limited early evening appointments available.

Where possible, we will keep your sessions on the same day and time each week. This consistency helps to create a dependable and dedicated space for you.

How often do I need to come for counselling?

I usually recommend weekly sessions to begin with, as this provides consistency and helps to build a strong therapeutic relationship.

Counselling can be short-term or long-term, depending on your individual needs.

We will have reviews to reflect on how the counselling is progressing and what feels right for you. You remain in control of how long you choose to continue.

As the work progresses, some clients choose to move to fortnightly sessions. I offer flexibility around session frequency and will always work with you to find a pace that feels manageable and supportive based on your circumstances.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

I understand that sometimes plans need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice so I can offer your spot to someone else who may be waiting.

If a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, 50% of the session fee will apply. For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if an appointment is missed, the full session fee will be charged.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

Counselling is a form of talking therapy that offers you a safe, confidential, and

non-judgemental space to explore whatever is on your mind.

You can share your thoughts and feelings with a qualified counsellor who will listen and support you without judgement.

Many people find it helpful to speak openly with someone outside of their family and friends, where there’s space to reflect and be heard.

  1. How will counselling benefit me?

Counselling can help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

It supports greater self-awareness and develops a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships with others.

As we work together, you may begin to:

Set clearer boundaries in your personal or professional relationships

Better manage anxiety, stress, or overwhelming emotions

Improve communication with others

Recognise and shift unhelpful patterns of behaviour

Strengthen your self-esteem and decision-making

Navigate life transitions with greater clarity and confidence

Through this process, you may start to see new choices and possibilities for how you live your life. Counselling can help build your confidence, increase your sense of control, and empower you to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
