Once you have contacted me, we can arrange a suitable time
for an initial session. This first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, explore how counselling might help and give you a chance to ask any questions you may have. It’s also an opportunity for us to
see whether we feel comfortable working together or whether a different therapist might be a better fit for you.
If you decide to continue, we will agree on a regular day
and time for your sessions. Wherever possible, sessions are held at the same time each week to provide a consistent, dedicated space for you. However, I understand that life can be unpredictable so we can be flexible if needed.
If you choose not to continue after the initial session that’s
absolutely fine – there’s no obligation or pressure to commit.
Counselling can be either short-term or long-term depending
on your needs. Short-term therapy is often helpful when you want to focus on a specific issue, while longer-term work allows for deeper exploration and can be open-ended.
We will review our work together where we can look at how
things are going and discuss what feels right for you moving forward.
Sessions last for one hour and are charged at £65.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial session. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 01799 794795 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
